Oceancare Mediclinic Diagnostic Centre & Clinic is a registered, approved medical examination centre (Approval No. MAH/NM/136/2024). Seafarer medical examinations in India may only be conducted by doctors and centres approved by the DGMA — formerly the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping), Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways — through its Maritime Health Branch at dgma.gov.in.

Why an Approved Centre Matters

A medical certificate issued by a non-approved facility is invalid for sign-on — it can be rejected by RPSL manning agents, flag-state inspectors and port state control, putting your contract and joining date at risk. Certificates from approved examiners are uploaded to the DGS electronic records system and are verifiable by employers worldwide.

How to Verify an Approved Examiner

Visit the DGMA Maritime Health Branch page at dgma.gov.in/maritime-health or dgshipping.gov.in.
Check the published register of approved medical examiners for your city.
Confirm the examiner's approval is current — approvals are granted for five years and renewed against valid medical council registration.
